NEW RETAILER: SOLE LAB SAN DIEGO

I’m always excited when we pick up a new retailer but this one means a lot to me personally and to LGNDS as a growing brand. Sole Lab, located in Oceanside, CA, now has LGNDS in their shop alongside other great brands like Illest, Gourmet Footwear, Mighty Healthy, and much more. I can’t explain how excited I am to see the brand expand and to now have a presence in the San Diego area. To our followers out in SoCal, let’s show some support and grab some gear from Sole Lab!!

They now have our Logo tees, Never Die tees, Crew tees, and Never Die snapbacks for sale in the shop!

GREEN STREET JUNGLE

You all know Green Street Vault by now…the big green truck that drives around Boston selling clothes and shoes. They’ve been having some issues with the city of Boston and are unable to operate at this time. Rather than sitting around and waiting, they have teamed up with Boston brand AnnieMulz to open the Green Street Jungle – an 8-week long pop-up shop on Newbury Street.

The shop has been open for a couple weeks now and carries lots of great gear from AnnieMulz, Society, Rocksmith, Kromaqee, and more! I grabbed a few pictures from their blogs:

They are located at 252 Newbury Street…stop in!

BROOKLYN

I’ve been to NYC quite a few times but never had the opportunity to visit the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn, otherwise known as “Hipsterdumb’s Ground Zero.” While that description is probably pretty accurate, the area was definitely not lacking. We made the drive Saturday for the Frshr Than Your Avrge Sneaker Battle.

The event took place at a bar/event space called Public Assembly. This place had an awesome raw and unfinished look that made a unique location for the show. The event was centered around the Battle. The contestants were organized in a bracket format and went head to head with their best pair of kicks. The crowd chose the winner of the round based on their shoe’s condition, their knowledge of the shoe, and how well they rocked them.

The contest saw Galaxy Foamposites, Tiffany Dunks, and even a pair of spiked Louboutin’s. The winner was a crazy pair of Crown Royale-themed Bespoke Air Force 1′s custom-designer by the owner. Here’s a few iPhone pics of the event. I promise I’m going to get a nice camera one day…Thanks to Bloodlinefresh for putting on the event and thank you to everybody who grabbed any LGNDS gear!

After the show, we explored the area a bit. We came up on the Shred Shed a couple blocks down – a dope mobile skateshop featuring the handmade skateboards of Derek and Lauren. Derek forms every board by hand and Lauren paints them. The decks are available alone or built complete for very reasonable prices. Check them out at DLboards.com!We came across the Causey Contemporary Gallery around the block which had two great exhibitions running. The first was called Acid Bath by artist Nina Carelli and the second featured New Paintings by artist Marc Brotherton.New York was good to us and we hope to be back soon!

NEW RETAILER: OLLIE UP

Ollie Up Skateshop recently opened in west Peabody, MA and is another great addition to our growing list of retailers. At first, the location may seem a bit peculiar but a trip down there on a nice day will certainly explain what is great about the shop. When I showed up to make the delivery, there was at least 15 kids in and around the shop on their scooters, bikes, and boards. Many shops don’t cater much to a younger crowd so it’s refreshing to see a place for these kids to go after school.Marlana runs the shop with the help of her kids and their friends. They offer a huge selection of complete scooters and parts, skateboard and longboard completes and parts, and much more. We’re definitely thrilled to be a part of the line up and to work with Ollie Up throughout the Summer. Check out their Facebook for updates and be sure to pay them a visit. They currently stock our new Never Die snapbacks along with select t-shirts from the collection.

KROMAQEE POP-UP SHOP

Last Thursday we checked out KromaQee‘s first pop-up shop in Harvard Square. Choya runs the show over there and did a great job putting the event together.

If you haven’t heard of KromaQee, it’s a really cool line that infuses streetwear with film. Most of the pieces are influenced by movies and all of the products are top-notch quality. Make sure to check them out!

I gathered a few pictures from the event:
